     Elizur Tryon Goodrich was born on 1 January 1817 at South Glastonbury, Connecticut.2 He was the son of Jeremiah Goodrich.1 He has also been reported to have been born 21 January 1817 South Glastonbury, Connecticut.2 He married first Mary C. Beach on 10 August 1841.2 He married second Mary E. Johnston on 21 September 1854.2 He died on 5 February 1868 at Cincinnati, Ohio, at age 51.2

     Transcribed from Case: "when a youth entered the store of John Olmsted, Hartford; subsequently became junior member of the firm-Olmsted, Thatcher & Goodrich; in 1858, dissolved partnership, and began the manufacture of Rogers Bros.' silver-plated ware at Hartford, and also the manufacture of paper at Poquonnock, Conn; in 1865, sold out both branches of business, and again entered the dry goods trade at Cincinnati, Ohio, where he died."2
